Located 15 minutes from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Stillwater Lake is a 122-acre spring-fed freshwater lake known for its peace and quite and excellent trout fishing. Although a private lake, there are plenty of opportunities for boating, wildlife observation, bird watching and other outdoor activities.

If you’re planning a vacation to Halifax, consider a vacation rental on Stillwater Lake. Located in the town of Tantallon, the lake has cottages of all sizes and beautiful lake front private homes for rent. Most of the rentals are fully furnished and feature docks, boat rentals and some are pet friendly so even your dog can enjoy the water.

There are many scenic routes close to Stillwater Lake. Hike and photography magnificent Peggy’s Cove, just 30 minutes away along the world-famous Lighthouse route. Stroll through the beautiful romantic sea-side coastal communities of Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg, all within 45 minutes. Lawrencetown Beach – known as a major surfing destination is less than an hour away from Stillwater Lake along the Eastern Shore.

Horseback riding and golf are also nearby Stillwater Lake with Hatfield Farms and Glenn Arbour only a 10 minute drive away. A 20 minute drive brings you to beautiful Hubbard’s Cove also know for its fresh lobster, quaint fishing villages, and live music.
