Other wildlife both big and small roam the area and can be viewed in their natural habitats.

With three large rivers flowing through the land, in addition to the many lakes, floaters, boaters, fishermen, and rafters flock to the area to challenge the water. For golfers, the county is home to a Golf Digest “Four Star Course” in addition to numerous other challenging courses. Hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails during the warm weather months double as trails for cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing during the snowy months; the area also offers two downhill skiing areas. Shopping venues, a casino, local festivals, old fashioned park bandstands with live music, local theatre productions, and art and history museums provide diversions to outdoor recreation.
